Kendal Mountain Book and Film Festivals
For the last six years Julie has been involved in the mountain
festivals at Kendal, Cumbria, held each November. She has
taken part as a judge on the international film jury on
two occasions; she has also compered the Sunday evening awards’
ceremony three times; lectured and given seminars on Irvine
and on writing biography. Most recently she has been involved
in hosting the Boardman Tasker Prize for Mountaineering
Literature awards ceremony and interviewing climbers and
writers including: Chris Bonington, Ranulph Fiennes, Stephen
Venables, Maria Coffey, Arlene Blum, Andy Cave and Audrey
Salkeld.
